Hi! I’m Ally and welcome to hookedontaste.
I started hookedontatse in July of 2010. I started this blog for many reasons. I wanted to document all the recipes I adapted and the ones I created. I guess you can say that this blog is like a recipe journal. I love cooking and sharing food with others, so that’s when I realized that I should start a food blog.
I have no culinary school experience but I would like to considered myself a self taught cook. As a foodie, I love finding innovative recipes and trying new foods. My love for cooking has grown over the years. This is my journal and I want to share it with people who share the same passion as me.
Fun Facts About Me
Foods I like: I like chocolate, peanut butter, raspberries, bacon, peaches, pears, dried cranberries, yogurt, granola bars, and the list goes on.
Least favorite foods: I despise eggs. To clarify that more, I can’t stand poached, scrabbled and fried eggs. I probably ate too many eggs as kid and it’s probably why I don’t like them. So if you are wondering why you don’t see any egg recipes, now you know. Most American’s love eggs, so I feel out of the loop and maybe feel a little weird.
When I started to cook: I don’t know the exact age, but I know I was young. My mom taught me how to measure things and from there I started to cook. Looking back when I started cooking is funny because I came along way.
My must have cooking equipment: A good pan, a sharp knife, microplane grater, food processor, and a cake stand mixer/ hand mixer.
